Do you need a fun, foodie way to entertain and educate the kids at home?  Look no further than Chartwells new cook-along videos with Chef Andrew and special guests.

Tune in to 'The Super Yummy Kitchen' every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to get creative in the kitchen with the family and learn to make some exciting, nutritious snacks!  Who doesn’t love the sound of unicorn hummus, or sunshine toast?   The videos can be followed at home by subscribing to their channel. 

You can even post a picture of your children’s creations online, and they will choose a winner of the week in The Super Yummy Kitchen!  (Don’t forget to @Chartwells in!) 

LEGO 30 Day Challenge

Are you ready for a LEGO Challenge?  If you live with LEGO fans, issue them a 30-Day LEGO Challenge and let their imaginations run wild!


Oxford Owl

Oxford Owl also have activity sheets, including quizzes and colouring pages, to download.



Plazoom has many free activities and challenges which can be downloaded and completed whilst at home.

DigiSafe Daily

To help keep your children safe, during term time, you can download “DigiSafe Daily” worksheets to use at home.  Each day there will be a new worksheet created to remind you about staying safe, a question (answers on following day), plus reminders to get active and creative too.



Each fortnight, Thinkuknow will be releasing new home activity packs with simple 15 minute activities you can do with your child to support their online safety at a time when they will spending more time online at home.

10 Minute Shake Up games

Change4Life and Disney have teamed up again to bring you new Shake Up games inspired by Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2, and Disney's The Lion King and Frozen. These 10-minute bursts of fun will really get your kids moving and count towards the 60 active minutes they need every day!


BBC Supermovers

Fun curriculum linked resources to get your children moving while they learn.


Jump Start Jonny

There are free activities every Monday.  Keep fit, healthy and happy at home with his fun Workouts!  There are also Mindfulness Activities to keep your Jumpsters calm and downloads to keep them busy.


PE with Joe

Tune into his YouTube channel at 9am every weekday for a free 30 minute fun workout.  Although aimed at children adults can even get involved.  You do not need any equipement.

First News Newspaper

Elm Grove Primary subscribes to "First News" newspaper, published by First Group Enterprises Ltd, which is an award-winning weekly newspaper for young people (aged 7-14).  Produced in a traditional, full-colour tabloid newspaper format, First News presents relevant news stories and current affairs in an informative, entertaining and stimulating way, encouraging children to take an active interest in the world around them.

First Group Enterprises Ltd has given temporary permission to allow schools to share the PDF copy of the First News newspaper with the children and parents of Elm Grove.  

The PDF copies of the newspaper can be found within the "First News Newspaper" Class Blogs section in Purple Mash.

Elevenses with The World of David Walliams

Every day at 11am, you can listen to one of David Walliams’ World’s Worst Children stories, so sit down, take a break, and enjoy 20ish minutes of pure fun!


Julia Donaldson and Friends

Local author, Julia Donaldson, writer of The Gruffalo series, Stick Man and Zog, has announced a new weekly online broadcast.  The author will perform stories, songs and poems, broadcast on Facebook from her home in Steyning. Each episode – airing 4pm each Thursday on Facebook – she’ll be joined by guests including illustrators Axel Scheffler, Rebecca Cobb, Lydia Monks, David Roberts and Nick Sharratt.

Storytime with Nick

From Monday 20th April, Ruth Miskin Training  are releasing Storytime with Nick; films of well-loved stories read by Nick Cannon, a trained actor, teacher and trainer and a wonderful storyteller.

Three stories will be published each week on our YouTube channel and are ideal for both Reception and KS1 children. So far, we are filming stories by Jeanne Willis, Tom Percival, Jill Murphy, Cressida Owen and Claire Freedman.
